Lauren participated in a singing competition on March 7, 2009 at West Edmonton Mall.  Called Futures Fest, this competition has three different age groups and eight music categories.  Lauren was in the Pop category for the 13-17 age group.  She sang Eva Cassidy’s version of Cyndi Lauper’s “True Colors”.  She placed highest among the Bronze contestants and she finds out on April 1 if she continues on to the finals at the Royal Alberta Museum.  Considering that she was only given the backtrack to practice with 24 hours prior to her performance, Lauren performed very well.  Congratulations, Lauren!
